Photographing the New SkyZip Zip Line Experience for Dollywood in Tennessee

image

Valerie McCarty, a creative director hired by Herschend Family Entertainment, selected us for a really fun shoot at the best theme park in Tennessee, Dollywood. The goal was to create marketing images showing park goers how SkyZip offers new views of the park and an exciting new family experience.

We really enjoyed our collaboration with the entire Herschend team. Valerie did an outstanding job producing the shoot in the midst of her vacation. It was also a pleasure working with such a confident art director in Brian Marschall, the corporate director of graphic design for Herschend. Valerie and Brian’s team supported the process in every way and we managed to hammer out lots of great material in one day of shooting, without even closing the attraction to paying guests.

As always, scouting is paramount to pulling off a shoot like this in one day. The day before the shoot we figured out the best ways to take advantage of the natural light on the course and we also managed to create a remote mount for the camera on one of the zip line pulleys with the help of the SkyZip staff. Click here to check out a video of Eric testing the mounted camera system (and enjoying the ride in the process).
