Making Portraits of Tony Jacklin for Golf World Magazine

image

It was a pleasure to meet and photograph Tony Jacklin for Al Barkow’s Golf World piece looking back on how Jacklin’s Open title lead to a European golf revival. We met Mr. Jacklin at his home in Bradenton, FL and first worked a few angles in his den, which could probably be called a “Man Cave,” were it not so classy and comfortable.

Jacklin’s latest passion, marquetry, adorns the walls, which lead us to his workshop, where he produces some amazing golf-themed pieces using exotic veneers. Eventually we ended up outside where we were able to take advantage of the open shade and the tree in his front yard. Sometimes simple elegance is best and that approach seemed to fit with Mr. Jacklin’s personality, too. Pick up the July 13th issue of Golf World to see more of the images and read Barkow’s piece.
