We love it when Swedish editors call and ask Eric if he can speak Swedish. He does not. “But you have a Swedish name,” they say.

Fortunately Svensk Golf hired us to photograph Henrik Stenson, even though most of the conversation during the shoot at Lake Nona was to take place in English. Bad English. Stenson loves quotes from the movie Talladega Nights. We came with several ready to go. “Dear newborn 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus … ” was a definite favorite.

Another awesome fact about Stenson is that he is sponsored by the German clothing company Hugo Boss, and he’s not contractually obligated to wear a baseball cap in every picture. Since the magazine didn’t have a budget for wardrobe, Eric brought one of his own Boss shirts to the shoot, just in case Henrik didn’t bring anything in black. He didn’t and he was happy to put Eric’s on. Mr. Boss, if you start sponsoring photographers, give Eric a ring!

Makeup artist Paula Abraham did some of her usual magic with powder, and went above and beyond the call of duty acting as wardrobe stylist as well.

Then, as we were having a debate over which pair of Henrik’s sweet specs to pair with the shirt, we just had to say, “The room is spinning … from all the … gayness!”
